I took a couple of photographs of him yesterday and I was amazed at how much older he looks in them, he in no way looks 4 years old, and it's quite shocking to look into the future just by looking at a particular photo. I can just imagine what he will look like in say 20-30 years time from looking at that particular photo, I will hold on to the fact that he will have the same cheeky smile, or certain look, and I will know that in 20 or so years time how quickly that all went by.
I posted a couple of school group photos on Facebook this week, and it generated a lot of memories for old friends that I once went to school with, we reminisced over certain things and made me laugh out loud at some, it really brought me back, and looking at how sweet we all looked at such a young age...and that was twenty years ago since we had left the school...and it's shocking to think that it has been that long, and I think it brings home to me how time indeed passes by so quickly.
So you see why photographs are so important, it takes you back, ok maybe for some to certain times that you might not want to have remembered, but mostly for us, ones that we do, and hold on to and remember - and it's the funny things you remember. But overall I cherish photographs that I have and look back on to see how far we've all come. I hope my little one does the same...
And so here is the photograph that I took of Luc yesterday which tells the moral of this story.
