Welcome

Welcome to my blog. I am a photographer specialising in newborn baby photography. The majority of my photosessions are held in my studio, but I also enjoy photographing sessions on location. Please stay a while and enjoy the posts, read upto date news, and if you like what you see and would like to know more about what I do, please get in touch, ask me anything, or book a photosession. I'd love to hear from you.

A life less ordinary

Getting married...oh my, the memories of trying to organise mine - I loved every single minute of it, I am fiercely independent, I wanted in on everything, no one is gonna lay a finger on my mark for our day, so I went hell for leather on what I wanted for my day. I actually made my own invitations, order of service, CD's for favours, and I loved arranging the tables; in that I sourced gorgeous candle holders from Laura Ashley, shipped over the most awesome miniature pewter chairs from America for the namecards, decided against table top flowers that florist seemed to over-charge me as soon as I mentioned the 'W' word [weddings] so bought gorgeous single stemmed flowers from our local M&S in their contemporary slimline vases. Simple, understated, but utterly gorgeous I hasten to add. All the table items were literally stripped from the tables at the end of the evening by overly anxious guests who raved about them and wanted them for keepsakes, how could I say no, they had to have a home at the end of the day and well it makes me smile when I visit family and friends to see them displayed in their homes (especially the pewter chairs!).

This was from a previous wedding; they had themes from their favourite films on their tables; Amelie, Casablanca, etc.

Another distinctive memory I have is that my white rose bouquet, wrapped in gorgeous vivid green banana leaves was actually done for free by the most awesome assistant at the bridal shop that I purchased my gorgeous dress from, it was a noble gesture, very kindly offered, which I duly accepted, and she did herself proud making the most gorgeous bouquet.
The last bride's bouquet had the most gorgeous blue-purple hues on the roses, so perfect with her colour schemes. I love seeing the flowers for weddings, they range from the most simple to the utterly gob-smackingly awesome.

My wedding photographer was Robert Lawler from Acton in London - his distinctive eye captured the day perfectly, and I regularly look at my photographs and sigh over the day. What is remarkable about my photographer was that he used a film format camera, (as well as digital), how he managed to change rolls of films throughout the day I'll never know, but the wonderful film look of his work is what adds to the photo.

Above all the emotions of the day is something that you never forget, heartfelt joys and tearful moments of happiness and the constant high throughout, the day almost goes in a blissful blur, my personal joys in my mind I won't ever forget, they are that, personal, trivial maybe for some, but a constant reminder of what it meant to me on the day and will be remembered by me forever.

And as you know I have to post another photo, here was a recent shot during a wedding speech that made this family member a little bit teary-eyed.
