I review weddings that I also feel that the client and I are on the same wavelength, I believe above all you have to feel comfortable with your photographer; know what they are offering, love all aspects of their style, (obviously that would have drawn you to them in the first place), and for these reasons I only photograph a handful of weddings a year, (I know of some photographers who have a wedding on near enough every day of the weekend! I have no idea how they do it, but kudos to them), the amount of post-production after the wedding is something that I take great care and attention to, so this inevitably takes patience and time. I however think this shows great level of commitment, as clients you definitely can relate to, to plan a wedding takes time and a definite level of complete commitment (!), so let me offer the same for you.
On a further note, my style for weddings is photojournalistic - I will record the day from when the bride gets herself ready in the morning prior to the ceremony, then I will leave to go and get a few shots of the groom and best man, and (with authorisation from the registrar or priest) take photographs during the ceremony, signing of the register, and then as the day unfolds. Groups photographs are normally requested, and then I take the bride and groom off on their own prior to their sit-down meal in and around the venue to get some intimate shots of just the both of them. After the first dance/cutting of the cake is done, that is when I normally retire from the party to let you enjoy the rest of the evening.
