The long and the short of it
I decided to have my hair cut...it was not an easy decision, but a very wise one I thought. I have had long hair for the most part of my life, with the odd exception of having different hairstyles, like perms, bob's, short crop, the lot. But for the past few years my hair has been the normal one length, long layered, look. As much as I love having long hair, the fact that my hair is very thick and I have a lot of it, is sometimes a pain in the backside! Coupled with the fact it takes me; from washing it, blow drying it, then straightening it, on average around 2 hours, and really that is just too much hassle for me, and not really manageable. So I wanted something neat, different, manageable and with a little bit of colour...and by and large I think I got it! I am really pleased with it, I love the cut and colour and I can't wait to experiment with it a little bit more!
Its all in the eyes
I had to post this photograph that I took during the newborn session I did at the weekend. Ms J was just being so good and at one stage just looked right into the camera and gave me the most wonderful eye contact. So wonderful, and I just think being awake as long as she did during the photosession was amazing enough, but to be so completely chilled out and not cry at all during, was even more amazing. A joy to photograph.
Pure sweetness
I had the pleasure of photographing a 3 week old newborn yesterday, I previously photographed the mother a few weeks ago for her maternity session, so it was so lovely to finally meet the new addition to their family and see the mother again and meet the rest of her family.

The newborn baby Miss J was just so gorgeous and such a placid baby, she was awake the whole entire time of the photosession, but didn't cry or fidget once, she was just so unbelievably good (I wish all babies could be like her) and her older 2 year old sister Miss L was just as good and cute, and they had a lovely family portrait together. A perfect family unit! Thankyou to the family for letting me photograph you at home, it was a real pleasure to be able to meet you all.
Grin and Bear it
My son is at times the most adorable, sweetest, funniest little human being I know, but then he can become the opposite. No two days are the same, I am at times baffled at how a 3 year old can be like an adult, its quite scary at times, that they learn things so quickly and are very quick to spot things, and point things out - things that maybe they shouldn't know, but its hard to draw the line on what they should be learning...I guess that's what they call growing up?
Splitting Hairs
Well, another week is nearly over, and what a few days its been. Since my mother moved house (and that was a traumatic time, and I'm not lying when I say that...it's a long story) anyhoo, I'm trying to grasp a sense of normality (whatever that is) back into my life, but its not easy. My mind is going at a hundred miles an hour, whereas my body is physically wanting to give up and just slow down for a bit. I must admit usually towards the end of the evening, when I finally get to sit down, I get tired pretty easily and think, oh, I'll go to bed a bit earlier tonight, but I never do, and on average I get to bed near enough midnight. Is this the reality that it will continue to be like this, sometimes I think life never gets any easier, maybe it will, but I'm pretty doubtful about it, and besides it keeps you on your toes, but sometimes, sitting on my backside is quite nice at times! Anyway, tomorrow I have a newborn session which I'm looking forward to, a bit anxious as I know how hard newborns are and its been a few weeks since I photographed a newborn, so I'm trying to think of what I need to take with me (as in props) the positions I need to arrange them in to get the best shots (I hope!) and more importantly I hope that it all goes well...(here's wishing)...and boy do I wish for a lot of things!
Windswept
I had the pleasure of photographing my mother's friend's wedding at the weekend, it was rather cold and very, very windy, but we made the most of the situation (as best we could) and I thoroughly enjoyed being part of their day. The bride who is filipino wore a lovely gown, which may I add was slashed to the thigh - very sexy (but very revealing on a cold autumn day!) but she looked so lovely and they both looked very happy together. Thankyou C&T for letting me photograph your day, I wish you all the very best for the future.
An Autumn Wedding
I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at a registry office in Towcester - the couple who were just the most sweetest loving couple, constantly smiling, giving each other adoring glances and just the way they were completely comfortable with each other. It was fortunate that the weather turned out lovely, fresh winds but fine enough to venture out and take some photographs in the gardens. There were only a handful of people present at the ceremony, but that made it all the more intimate and special. Thankyou P&D for letting me be part of your day! I hope you have many happy years of love and happiness. You certainly showed it on your wedding day!
