The kid has got some lip
My kid is 3 (going on 30) he has an opinion about everything, thinks he knows better than anyone, and he has so much get up and go it makes my head spin. He helps out (although more likely gets in the way) but bless him, he does try and I admire his way's of...wanting to know what you are doing, etc, etc. He amazes me with what he knows, for an example we were in a supermarket yesterday and I spotted a skateboard on the shelf, (he's never been shown one of these before (well not that I knew of before yesterday)). I took it off the shelf and showed it to him, he took it off me placed it on the floor and proceeded to put his leg on it and skateboard away, I asked him what he thought it was and he promptly looked at me and said in a matter-of-fact way, "a skateboard", me and the hubby just looked at each other and said, how does he know that? It might not seem such a big deal to anyone else, but for me who doesn't realise what a 3 year old actually knows astonishes me at times...gawd I love this kid.
Looking Up
Well it's the end of my two and a bit week annual leave from work. In that time off, I've stressed (lots), entertained [quite a lot), chilled out (a bit), ate a thing (or two), but have enjoyed my time (immensely) - so after all that I'm back to work tomorrow feeling no refreshed than usual, but it would be nice to catch up with the girls at work, see what I have (or more importantly haven't) missed during my time off...although I'm only in until Wednesday and I've got another couple of day's off in which to help my mother out...no rest for the wicked they say!
Love & Marriage

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding, the location was just awesome, the bride and groom looked equally handsome, with a really loving intimate atmosphere, and to top it off the weather was just absolutely gorgeous. Everything went off without a hitch, and the whole event was just casual and welcoming. The bride is from Poland and her family came over for the event, there was some poems read out during the ceremony in Polish. The brides husband played the guitar for her as she walked down the aisle accompanied by her father who led her down to be married. After the ceremony took place we headed off to the reception venue at Paris House in Woburn Abbey, a sprawling mansion set in acres of greenery filled with matured trees and deers roaming the grounds. All in all it was just a stunning day, and I was glad to be a part of it to capture the moments, I think for me personally what stood out among all the special touches of the day, was that the bride and groom always swapped admiring glances at one another, the look of love between them was very apparent during the day, and I can't wish enough for both of them the best wishes for their future. A really great couple, thank you A&E for having me photograph your day.
The nightmare never ends...

I am on annual leave from work until the end of September - long overdue break for me, I have been off since last Thursday, my purpose during the break was to help my mother move house...and hopefully it was to be this week, but we've had word that it isn't going to happen this week because of various paperwork not in order blah, blah, blah. So another let down, this has been going on for months, far longer than anticipated, and needless to say I'm bored to tears with it all. I know house moving isn't easy, I went through it over a year ago, and it took me nearly a year to move! I have friends in the same situation as we speak, and its just so frustrating, tiring and completely out of your control. So what are my plans this week instead...well, the fact that I began my weekend with a cold, I guess trying to overcome that this week! Apart from that, chillin' out and just enjoying my break, I do have one important thing to do this week however, and that is to photograph a wedding, which I'm looking forward to, not holding out to much on the weather front though, but oh well...yes I do sound a misog, but I'm not honest!
Eyes Wide Open
My kid doesn't miss a thing...believe me when I say that he hears, sees, EVERYTHING within a five mile radius. So when you are minding your own business going about your business, he will say something that will make you turn on your head and listen up, and your instant thought is "how the hell did he know that?". He's 3 going on 30 - he thinks he knows everything, tells you what you should really do and more to the point you're gonna do it...hmmm who is the parent and who is the child?! Lets just say it's never boring when he is around, and we all laugh a lot out loud, as much as he is like any child his age, and at times that can be fraught as any parent can tell you, but sometimes I would just love to bottle him up at the age he is now, as his innocence, kindness and completely naivety is just so adorably sweet, that sometimes I do realise he is growing up way too quickly...
Here's lookin' at you kid
My baby boy (although not a baby anymore...!) really doesn't like having his photograph taken, to him the task of posing for the camera is the most boring thing ever, when he could be playing happily with his toys or running around ragged, instead of being hounded with a camera shoved in his face ;P...but I just love to take his photographs, he'll (hopefully) thank me one day! Anyway, he was quite good this afternoon posing for me, it was all over and done with in a matter of minutes, but no matter, I got some good shots for the album!

But then the boredom really set in...

...like really set in...so we called it time!

Sweet Surrender
I had the most unbelievable pleasure of photographing two twin boys. They were just so, so gorgeous, and tiny! They were so good, but I must say doing newborn photography is HARD work! The newborn photographers that I know make it look so very easy, and I know its down to lots of hard work and experience, so I've got a long way to go until I really master it like they do, but I enjoy the process so much (even though today took 3 hours in total!) you have to have masses of patience. Between lots of feeding, changing and generally making sure that they are comfortable and warm, you hope that you get the shots that you want.

Both boys were equally good despite the numerous times that they were moved around, they hardly cried (if at all) and it really did warm my heart to see such a laid back mother with two twin boys, who all had hardly any sleep the day before, hats off to all of them.
